GoldenEye 007 Remastered: the cult N64 game restored in 4K on Xbox and Switch, the unexpected announcement
It's almost hard to believe, but the Nintendo 007's GoldenEye 64 will be making a comeback in a remastered version. The announcement was made during the Nintendo Direct on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, no doubt to everyone's surprise. It must be said that the fight to recover the license rights was extremely complicated, to the point that Microsoft even broke their teeth with it. But Nintendo and the American giant seem to have found common ground to release this GoldenEye 007 Remastered on both Xbox consoles and Nintendo Switch. Everyone has announced the good news via their official channels. On Nintendo Switch, the game will integrate the games program available on the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, while on Xbox family consoles, a restored 4K version will be offered in the Xbox Game Pass. The Rare Twitter account even specifies that the framerate has been reworked, that the game will be playable in split screen locally, which has not finished thrilling players nostalgic for a bygone era. Good news which is obviously accompanied by a video that we share with you without further delay. On the other hand, for the release date, we will have to be patient.

25 years after its original release, experience GoldenEye 007 faithfully recreated for Xbox consoles. Includes achievements, 4K resolution and a smoother framerate – even in split-screen local multiplayer! Coming soon to @XboxGamePass. pic.twitter.com/kpBlJKqFR9
