Monster Hunter Rise: How to Get High Quality Skin

Monster Hunter Rise: How to Get High Quality Skin

The list of materials you need for Low Rank in Monster Hunter Rise ends up not being that long, but the list of high rank materials you need is another story. There are a lot of high rank materials that you're going to have to go out of your way to if you want certain gear, and the one that can be a little confusing is the high grade skin.

The high-grade hide is used in a handful of gear crafting recipes, but luckily it's not too many as the item can be a bit difficult to obtain. Only two monsters drop this material in Monster Hunter Rise, and you cannot be included to kill them usually.

Monster Hunter Rise: High Quality Skins Locations

As a high rank material, you will only be able to get high quality hides from high rank monsters. Luckily, you're looking for the easiest of the easiest in terms of HR: Kelbi and Anteka.

High quality skin only comes from killing Kelbi or high rank Anteka, with Kelbi being the most reliable source as the carve rate on skin with Anteka is less than 20% – meaning you better to cultivate Kelbi for this.

Monster Hunter Rise: How to Get High Quality SkinThe Kelbi can be found in the Sanctuary Ruins in two specific areas: Regions 11 and 13. They are circled in green on the map to the right.

Like most other little herbivorous monsters, Kelbi is nervous. Once you attack a single Kelbi, others nearby will attempt to flee. You can make them a bit easier by waiting to prune them until you kill everyone in the area.

I prefer to farm them in region 11, as there is also a pile of bones to dig and a mining outcrop to hit. It's also faster to reach, but that may just be a personal preference.

Moose-like Anteka can be found in the Frost Isles and can be found in regions 1 and 6 of the map. They will also flee once you attack one of their own, but the drop rate of High Quality Skins is much lower for them. Still, they are sometimes worth killing if you think you need the skin later and the Anteka is where you are.

Hope this helps you get your gloves on a high quality skin for your next gear. Take a look at Gameskinny's other Monster Hunter Rise guides as you become the hunter you want to be.
