Outriders: the "Worldslayer" extension presents its big news on video

Launched a year ago with the problems we know about it, Outriders went up the slope throughout 2021 for a finally satisfactory result. In order to consolidate its relations with its community, the People Can Fly studio has worked on the production of an extension which is revealed today after a steam which was held last night. Substantial additional content which will be made available from next week, June 30, and which will be sold for the tidy sum of €39.99, or half of a full game. For this price, the developers promise a real return on investment with this Worldslayer which has been designed for old but also new players. It is also specified that even if the story takes place after the events of the original game, it is still possible to embark on the adventure, since the creation of a new character immediately grants him level 30 Everyone therefore starts on the same equal footing. In the video of more than 5 min that accompanies the extension, we learn that we will be entitled to a new campaign, independent of the main story, and that it is possible to do without knowing the original game. There are of course new enemies, new environments to explore, brand new pieces of equipment and a revised and corrected Ascension system. The list of additions and new features is long, and we suggest you list it to get a better overview of what awaits you. It happens just below the video.

The new Outriders: Worldslayer campaign focuses on your Outrider clashing with Ereshkigal, the commander of a human faction called the Insurgents, as the climate of Enoch undergoes cataclysmic weather changes. Worldslayer will obviously be an opportunity to travel and discover new lands. The videos presented this week show you images of the Glacier's Edge and Driftwater, two environments that you will survey in the first hours of the campaign. Worldslayer is also adding new variants of existing enemies, as well as opponents and bosses you've never seen before. You may have spotted a few of them in our spot, but we'll show more in the future on our social networks.

    New pieces of equipment
Outriders: Worldslayer obviously has its share of new items, both in terms of weapons and armor.
We've added a new legendary 5-piece armor set for each class.
Worldslayer will also introduce several new legendary 3-piece sets, which all classes can equip. These will also have their own set bonuses.
Note: We are also planning to rework some of the old legendary armor sets and modifications for the launch of Worldslayer! We will come back to these changes around the release of the update.
Each new piece of legendary gear included with Worldslayer will come with a new modification.
We'll be showcasing some of the new gear updates on our social channels in the lead up to Worldslayer's release, so be sure to follow us there if you want to hear more!

    New Pax class trees
Outriders: Worldslayer adds a new skill tree: the Pax class tree.
The Pax Class Tree is a class tree that is independent of the other three branches you are used to, and requires Pax Points to activate nodes in it.
You will earn Pax Points at specific times in Worldslayer, based on your overall progress and not by gaining experience.
The Pax class tree consists of 2 branches for each class, which are, like the main class tree, linked together.
Each of the nodes in the Pax class tree are equivalent to the major nodes of the original class trees, so any choices you make in that tree will be decisive for your Outrider.
Like the main class tree, the Pax tree can be fully reset.
The goal of the Pax class tree is to allow players to specialize even more in one type of gameplay, or to encourage them to test even more hybrid builds.

Here are the branches of each of the Pax class trees:
    Pyromage
    stripper
    Pyromaniac
    Technomage
    Apocaliste
    foreman
    Telluriste
    breaker
    Tectonic disruptor
    Illusionist
    Spectre
    Capitalist

The Pax class tree unlocks at level 30, as soon as you start playing the Worldslayer campaign.

    Outriders: the

    New Ascension System
Outriders: Worldslayer adds a new long-term progression system called Ascension.
The idea behind this system is to build into your games a constant "next level to reach" goal once you reach the maximum level.
Ascension itself doesn't unlock gear or content, it's just about making your character more powerful.
In its current balance, the Ascension system requires a little over a hundred hours to see the end.
You will level up your character through experience gained from killing enemies. Ascension only starts from level 30 and provided Worldslayer is installed.
Experience gained beyond level 30 goes into Ascension levels, and rewards you with Ascension points.
You can invest your Ascension points in one of four available categories: Brutality, Endurance, Talent, and Anomaly.
Each of these categories has five sub-categories in which you can invest.
For example, you can invest points to reduce your cooldowns, or increase your HP, your resistances or your damage.
You can invest a maximum of 10 points in each of these sub-categories.
Worldslayer's maximum Ascension level is 200, for a total of 200 Ascension points. Once the maximum level is reached, you will have enough points to complete each of the categories.
You can allocate the points you earn however you see fit, with the ability to reset categories entirely if needed, whenever you want.
As with the Pax class tree, Ascension aims to allow players to focus on a specific build or create something more hybrid.

    Outriders: the

New Apocalypse System and 3rd Mod Slot
As a reminder, Outriders' level systems give players the opportunity to choose the difficulty that suits them best. High level means high difficulty, but also improved rewards and the possibility of equipping higher level parts.
Outriders: Worldslayer introduces a new apocalypse system that heavily impacts your max gear level, difficulty level, and most importantly loot.
Challenge levels are replaced by apocalypse levels.
This change will apply to all versions of Outriders, even if you don't have Worldslayer installed.

Apocalypse Levels will determine the difficulty and level of rewards for Expeditions, as well as all Worldslayer content (Campaign and Endgame).
The maximum apocalypse level is 40, and serves as a natural extension to the world levels that remain in place for the original Outriders campaign. This campaign can, however, be played with apocalypse levels instead if you own Worldslayer.
The maximum apocalypse level you can unlock by completing expeditions in the base game (so without installing Worldslayer) is 15.
If you install Worldslayer, you will still be able to complete World Quests to unlock subsequent apocalypse levels beyond level 15.
At apocalypse level 15, the max gear level on your character will be 50, as it is now.
At apocalypse level 40, the max gear level on your character will be 75, the new limit.
When playing above a certain apocalypse level, you will have a chance of dropping pieces of apocalypse gear.
These coins are special variants of epic and legendary items found in the game.
Apocalypse gear pieces have three modification slots.
Currently, it is only possible to obtain the apocalypse equipment as a loot and not to craft it.
The apocalypse equipment is easily identifiable thanks to an icon when you hover your cursor over it.

    Outriders: the

    New endgame content
Apocalypse levels will integrate with the Expeditions content already there, but Outriders: Worldslayer will also feature its own endgame content, which the entire update was built around.
Worldslayer's campaign will take you to the ancient city of Tarya Gratar, cradle of Pax civilization, where the trial of Tarya Gratar awaits.
But don't worry: none of the elements of this event will be timed.
That's about all we can tell you about end-game content right now. Our next transmission will focus exclusively on Tarya Gratar's Trial, so you'll know exactly what to expect!
