Splatoon 3: a crazy launch in Japan, figures that should make people envious
Released just a few days ago, on Friday September 9, 2022 all over the world, Splatoon is already a huge commercial success; at least in Japan. Nintendo has just communicated on sales figures in Japan, which total 3.45 million copies sold in just three days. This is by far the best start of a Nintendo game in the land of the Rising Sun since Animal Crossing New Horizons and Pokémon Legends Arceus had not done so well, with 1.88 million and 1.365 million copies respectively. Proof that the Splatoon license is now well established in the Nintendo landscape and we understand better why the series is stagnating in terms of gameplay, with practically no novelty since the first episode. This is also why the game had been singled out in the press tests. A lack of risk-taking paid off in Japan, and of course, we are waiting for the figures in other countries. We imagine that the scores will be just as good...
