The Jax composition with Skirmisher and Knight
The Skirmoucheurs (Skirmisher) offer good defense with the shield, and above all attack damage over time which greatly benefits Jax. If it is interesting to play 6 Skirmishers in the middle game, the version 4 Knights et 3 Battleships (Ironclad) is more relevant in the late game to counter a lot of comps.
At the same time, you can give objects to your Gallium to act as a main tank, or play viego ou Read without in secondary carries, depending on the items you have available.

What to choose as an emblem (spatula object)?
Skirmoucheur (Skirmisher) (
+ ): The Skirmisher Spatula is easy to make and allows you to separate yourself from Lee Sin for example, or to play 6 Skirmishers more easily.
Battleship (Ironclad) : Switching to 4 Battleships can be very powerful.
Chevalier (Knight) : Going to 6 Knights will make your composition much more tanky.
Cavalier ( + ) : You can change Jax en Cavalier to make it much harder to kill.

Positioning Tips
It is often interesting to put Jax in the second line so that he is not worried at the start of the fight, especially if he has a Ultra-fast cannon. Even if he doesn't have one, it often allows him to bypass the opposing frontline, due to lack of space, and to hit the backline once he has killed his first target. So put it away from the mass of opponents so that it has a better chance of getting around.
If you play Read without carry, try to put it in the middle so that it hits as many champions as possible with its spell (which hits up to 2 squares around it). If you have Gallium beside it can lure opponents around.
Regularly monitor the positioning of your opponents: you want Thresh opposite to carry because it aims at the furthest opponent. You also want your viego either towards the middle, in a place where it is not likely to be targeted too quickly. Be careful though: if the opponents have an isolated carry, you can put it directly on it.
