TFT: Yordle/Sorcerer Composition Guide

Our articles on Tactical Combat TFT: Yordle / Sorcerer composition guide How to play the Yordle / Sorcerer composition? The writing explains everything: tips, composition, items, start of the game and other options!

The composition Yordle is one of the most effective (with the Nobles) against physical damage, and also one of the most versatile in the choice of its main carry. Here is our guide to playing it optimally.

The composition

Tristana (1) / Lulu (2) / Kennen (3) / Veigar (3) / Poppy (3) / Gnar (4) / Morgana (3)

Yordle (6)  : All Yordles have 60% to dodge auto attacks.

Sorcerer (3) : All allies have +45% magic damage.

Ninjas (1) : The Ninja has +40% attack damage.

The Yordles are very effective when they are 6. Almost impossible to kill for a composition that relies on physical damage (unless you have a TFT: Yordle/Sorcerer Composition Guide Ultra-fast cannon which prevents attacks from missing), this build also has the advantage of being relatively versatile in its choice of carry, although Weighs et Tristana remain the most interesting options.

The other advantage is that most units aren't much contested, since they don't really fit into other meta comps (especially Lulu et poppy). This way, you will easily have the free way to fetch your Yordles quietly and enjoy a huge power spike at levels 6 and 7.

Preferred items

Spear of Shojin / Dragon Claw / Seraph's Embrace / Cursed Blade

→ The main carry will generally be Weighs (especially if you manage to get it level 3). So it's a good idea to look for mana items to ult repeatedly, like the Lance de Shojin et l'Etreinte de Seraphin.

→ Since Veigar's ultimate allows him to instantly kill all units that are one level lower than him, the Cursed Blade can be very useful, whether on him or on Tristana which usually has a lot of attack speed.

→ Yordles are very effective against physical damage, but much less against magic damage. The Dragon's Claw can be very useful in overcoming this problem.

→ With a TFT: Yordle/Sorcerer Composition Guide Pistolame Hextech, Veigar can restore all his HP every time he uses his ultimate, which can sometimes be a working option.

Game start and other options

→ It is not uncommon to start this composition using the build Gunslinger / Pirate classic, since Tristana is one of the best units at the start of the game.

→ Subsequently, the objective will be to quickly obtain your other Yordles, in particular Kennan et poppy which will naturally be added to the middle of your gunslingers until you have gathered your 6 units.

→ Finally, the ultimate goal is to have your 6 Yordles ready once level 6 reached, and to add Morgana to the next level for the bonus Wizard. The latter can be replaced by another Sorcerer, but it will generally be the most effective in terms of protection.

→ At the end of the game, Miss Fortune can work well, since she greatly benefits from bonus magic damage, but also from the gunslinger bonus with Tristana, allowing them to affect multiple targets with their effects on impact.

Strengths and weaknesses

+ A composition that is easy to obtain since it is rarely contested.

+ It brings a lot of flexibility in the choice of carry, and can therefore be adapted independently of the items you have.

+ It works particularly well against physical damage, especially Assassins who are very present in the meta.

- Gnar can be hard to come by at times, which can delay when this comp will really shine.

- If it works very well against physical damage, it is countered by the ultra-rapid cannon but especially by magic damage which is sure to make poor Yordles disappear in an instant.
